Our farmers market favorite, “Anti-Poison Ivy” soap, combines a steam distilled concoction of locally foraged jewelweed flowers and leaves with bentonite, burdock, oatmeal and peppermint, within a powerfully cleansing coconut oil soap. A handmade alternative to store bought products, which ineffectually include harsh pertrochemicals and artificial surfacants.
This strong, "oil dissolving" soap is made to naturally wash your skin clear of dirt and the "urushiol" oil from plants such as poison ivy, oak, and sumac. Use shortly after exposure, before they can lead to contact dermatitis and a painfully itchy rash. When used thoroughly, you will feel "squeaky clean" and additionally enjoy the soothing effects of oatmeal, peppermint and bentonite clay.
