Anti Poison Ivy Soap
2017’s “Anti-Poison Ivy” soaps are thicker cuts of our esteemed solution, with finely ground colloidal oatmeals, burdock, peppermint and bentonite clay.
Jewelweed has been an itch relieving staple for generations of appalachian outdoorsmen, and current research is seeking to find truth within this tested folk remedy. Our “Anti-Poison Ivy” soap, combines a strong base with our locally foraged spotted jewelweed (Impatiens capensis), finely powdered burdock root (Arctium lappa), oatmeal (Avena sativa), and bentonite clay. Peppermint (Mentha piperita) essential oil punctuates this recipe.
This is a harsh oil dissolving soap made to effectively wash away the dirt and oils from plants such as poison ivy, oak, and sumac which can lead to contact dermatitis. Exposure times, skin types, conditions and results will vary. For best results, shower immediately following known/suspected exposure with this soap and cold water.
